Good fun. Sometimes the clues focus on pop culture from the Commonwealth, so my American brain is frequently stumped.

Nice drop without direction! (6) A good app for us beginners. Increases the difficulty gradually rather than throwing you in at the deep end as some newspaper cryptics do. And there are plenty free puzzles before you have to pay.

Good time waster As said by others, this is a good introduction to cryptic crosswords. But even if you have experience with them, they are good little time wasters.

Good cryptic crosswords app. Not too difficult or obscure. One thing to be wary of is accidentally typing over previously inputted letters...your typing skips over an already placed letter and carries over to the next blank box; this can cause letters to appear in odd places on the grid which you then have to delete... just a matter of getting used to the apps way of doing things. Well worth a look for cryptic crossword fans...thank you, developer.

Very good app for those reasonably skilled at solving cryptic crosswords but not yet at the very expert level. Challenging but not frustrating. Also good for those who are beginners at solving this type of puzzle, and a good introduction to the genre for people who look at cryptic puzzle clues and are intrigued but baffled. It will help you make sense of it all.

There\'s a decent amount of free material here, so that you can see whether you like the setter\'s style before deciding to stump up to unlock the rest of the puzzles. The app is intuitive, responsive, stable and free from annoying, intrusive animations. It makes good use of screen space. The crossword puzzles themselves are at a reasonable level, a little easier than the ones in most British broadsheets, and the clues are well written.

Three puzzles in and this is very absorbing. General knowledge not essential but a wide and varied vocabulary is essential. The tutorial on cryptic clues is clear and thorough. Sounds like cutting the big cheese down to size! (5)

Relatively quick and easy cryptic crosswords - obviously difficulty is subjective but these are easier than most cryptic crosswords I have seen in newspapers/magazines. No ads or other app annoyances seen so far.
