Description of dB Meter - frequency analyzer decibel sound meter

"The best way to meter sound levels" - AppAdvice

dB Meter is a full of features dBA sound level meter (noise meter) with exclusive accuracy of sound frequency measurements calibrated with a professional decibel meter.

A sound level meter (known as a noise detector) is useful for those who wants to avoid exposing their ears to harmful noise levels. But who wants to spend hundreds of dollars on one? So, use this dBA noise meter for your benefit.

dB Meter is a free mobile app that provides professional-quality measurement results, calibrated using accurate Nor140 high-precision sound level meter. With our dB Meter based on the FFT algorithm, you can measure ambient noise levels, save your measurements and their locations, and share your measurements with others. dB Meter is designed for detecting sound frequency. It combines a utility with stylish design and a polished user experience: a powerful tool in a sleek package. All this is at a tiny fraction of the cost of professional sound meters.

(Please note that a dB Meter sound & noise level meter app is not a replacement for professional sound level meter devices and should be used for personal purposes only.)

● Highly accurate decibel meter.

● Saves location data for each measurement.

● Saves measurements with custom names right in the noise detector.

DB Chart to interpret the decibel meter measurements:

150-160 decibel = Eardrum rupture

140 decibel = Aircraft carrier deck.

130 decibel = Jet take-off (100 meters), a gun blast at close range.

120 decibel = Human pain threshold, loud rock concert.

110 decibel = Serious hearing damage if sustained for more than 1 hour.

100 decibel = Serious hearing damage if sustained for more than 8 hours.

90 decibel = Likely hearing damage if sustained for more than 8 hours.

80 dB = Potential but unlikely hearing damage if sustained for more than 8 hours.

70 dB = Just annoying, but probably safe noise.

60 dB = Typical conversational volume.

50 dB = A quiet, library conversation.

40 dB = A whisper.

30 dB = Barely audible sound.

20 dB = Threshold of human hearing. Can be detected only with a noise level meter.

So, use this spl meter app as a noise detector. This noise level meter will show you an accurate sound frequency around you.

The average decibel level does not continuously update accurately! I recorded sounds levels in a quiet room at 20 dB for 59 seconds, and then played a 60 dB sound for a second. The average dB rating should be 20.7 dB. I\'ve done this many times and the app reported average is always substationally higher...like 45 dB. That isn\'t even close to being correct.

Useless app, doesn\'t really work. Sometimes it doesn\'t pick up any changes, even when coughing and apparently my quite room is as loud as a quiet street. Better options available

very nice, also shows how much decibels are damaging. neat!

Very accurate! Great for bar owners and bar managers to regulate the volume of their bands. 90 is good for chill. Maybe higher for clubs and bigger venues. Walk around the bar and make sure people can talk to each other without yelling. Again, 90 is good for chill. Higher for clubs.

Looks nice. Measurements seem to be realistic. I bought pro. Export to csv does not work (grayed out), also the \"feedback\" button as well as the \"restore purchase\" do not work. No answer from the dev within 24 hours. I\'ll wait another day before I ask for a refund.

Trying to evaluate noise levels along a bike route but when exported the data it only came in bits of minutes. I need the complete 1h run. Seems like a great app but is not working gir what I need (I purchased the pro). Maybe the phobe\'s lock screen in stopping the measurement? Please, advise. Many thanks.

Incredibly useful. Big tool for our local worship team. Allowing us to create a fun and comfortable musical experience. We like to push, but also keep some of our more sound sensitive congregation in mind. We understand loud can be uncomfortable. I use this app constantly finding that balance.

Very accurate, I love how the pictures in the play store sort of merge together, you rarely see that.

It\'s my first time to have this kind of app, very accurate tools to measure sound and noise level. Truly awesome!

Too many ads! This app has banner ads constantly on the bottom of the screen and if you change your screen orientation you get either a pop-up ad or a video ad. If it wasnt for the amount of ads this app would be great.
