Description of Hearing Test

New release of the Hearing Test on #WorldHearingDay! Now with new speech intelligibility test (the digits-in-noise) and in new languages.

Remember #HearingCare and get your hearing tested today! Check events on #Hearathon2021 and on the Coalition for Global Hearing Health webpage #cghh.

The app provides two basic hearing test: pure-tone audiometry and the speech intelligibility test (the digits-in-noise).

Pure-tone audiometry determines the degree of hearing loss in relation to the sound frequency. The test consists in determining the quietest sound that you are able to hear, thus determining your hearing threshold. The digits-in-noise test evaluates speech intelligibility and consists of recognition of the digits in the noise.

The features of the Hearing Test app:

* pure-tone audiometry (using bundled headphones and predefined calibration coefficients from the database),

* the digits-in-noise test for speech intelligibility measurements,

* noise meter to measure background noise during the test,

* calibration of the device (in the case of lack of predefined calibration or for headphones other than bundled).

Additional features:

* high-frequency audiometry,

* classification of the hearing loss,

* comparison with age norms,

* printing of the tests results,

* adding notes,

* calibration adjustment (calibration coefficients may be adjusted on the basis of your results obtained using clinical audiometer),

* verification of calibration coefficients.

Pro version features:

* local database (offline access to tests results, without connecting to the server),

* synchronization (your tests results can be stored in a cloud; data are easy to recover, can be transferred between devices and accessed on different devices).

Feels like a hearing test performed by a doctor. except instead of just asking you to push a button when you har a time in either ear it tests left and right separately and you push the button until you can no longer har the time. Then after your test it shows you a chart of where you stand with your hearing. This works best of you close your eyes because it shows one ear result while testing your other ear and is really ear to chart to make then match up, so of you want true results then close your eyes.

saves tests only online - why? should be documented! use it offline + scrrenshot for keeping your health data private! paid version offers local saving, but, but this is a bit like blackmailing with privacy, sorry. the test itself is pretty accurate with bundled samsung earphones, but should be upside down - starting with no tone and tapping when you hear something. both issues prevent 5 stars, sorry.

Fabulous. I did the test without hearing aid and with hearing aid .Comparison is really interesting. With the hearing aid it compares very closely with the audiologist. Without the hearing aid the curve Compares exactly to my age 90. With the hearing aid in it brings the age to about 50. It is invaluable in helping me to tell my audiologist how to adjust the frequency response. I used to hear up to 8000. The hearing aid brought it up significantly . Audiologist rarely do the test with the hearing aids in.

Oh Man Amazing Loved it...but we need to be careful of background noise as they might interfere in d test...Need a quiet environment for this awesome test.... :)

Great just what I needed to cope with sudden unstable hearing loss after a heavy cold. Tells me I aam not imagining things and that the situation is improving. The makers could -on installation -collect data on user-profile and reasons. You could also offer link to cedible advice pages and other Apps. For example I used NHS pages and also bought an APP to check I could still sing in tune before going to choir!

Really good app. Tried it after being diagnosed to have mild hearing loss in one ear. Gave similar results to the one from the medical test. Only complaint being both my wife and I had mild pain in the ears after the test.

First off, this is the best free hearing test app available. No doubt about that, and a comparison to my actual hearing test from my audiologist shows a startling accuracy that I was not expecting. This app does however have a couple of areas where improvements can be made, including server connectivity problems and occasional loud hissing/static if the Hz are out of your device\'s threshold. But seriously, if used correctly, this app is incredibly accurate, especially for no money! Recommended.

Nicely done I wish there was a more reliable way to calibrate my headphones. Also, on the last frequency test, I sometimes accidentally touch the wrong button and the test completes. There is no way to go back and continue so I have to start all over again. It should really ask if I want to continue or not before ending the test.

Not really usable for me. A few issues are... No manual presentation of tone. No way to test at some intermediate frequencies. Masking jumps up in big steps. Also there is audible harmonics present in addition to the pure tone so clients might respond to that instead.

Excellent App. Takes a little while to calibrate. Results may obviously vary if you find your calibrator has very good or poor hearing. You can take you time in the test and move the volume up and down for each reading. The app is brilliant at assessment or a quick judgement as to whether you might need a hearing aid. Obviously best to go to a professional with a calibrated machine .
