Cheque deposit experience is almost always frustrating. It automatically takes the photo, even if nothing is in focus. So you try, over and over, but it keeps taking the photo prematurely. Or it will focus on the screen and look so clear, it gives you hope and then the photo comes out blurry anyway.

Check deposit feature needs improvement. The app takes check picture automatically. However, it has a flaw - Sometimes it cannot recognize the check, and will keep popping up annoying error. Sometimes it recognize the check, but picture is very blur. I would suggest it give user the opportunity to click \"taking picture\" button.

It\'s been over 6 months since I was last able to deposit a cheque using this app. Other banking apps I use can deposit the exact same cheques without any problem. This bug-ridden feature remains broken and no one at this multibillion dollar bank seems willing or able to fix it. Very poor.

While I appreciate the security behind this application it is difficult, cumbersome, and painfull to use. In fact all of HSBC\'s online banking in painful. You need two devices to do any real banking and mobile security code generating tips are outdated or just plain wrong. I\'m transacting on my own device and can\'t even screenshot a confirmation number for reference due to security constraints? Please refer to someone else on how to craft a mobile banking app because this one is not great.

Mostly works fine. Sometimes takes many tries to recognize picture of a cheque for mobile deposit

The user experience is sub par. While the basic functionality is working, the UI has no advantages over the previous app. UX wise, it\'s frustrating when you use the back button to return to previous pages and accidentally exit the app. When you switched back to it, you\'ll need to login again. It\'s security, one may argue, but personally I think it\'s too strict. Also very disappointed because there\'s still no fingerprint security for Android.

I am landlord I need to deposit cheque every month. This is not first time I complained to you guys about the cheque recognition software doesn\'t recognize the amount properly. This is my third or fourth time I complained about this. You say that you talk to the software imaging company about it. Issue is you need to allow me to continue after confirming amount I entered is correct. You hold my money for five business anyways you can have a staff double check the amount I entered if correct.

This is the worst app to deposit checks on. Never works. I use it with other banks and it works wonderfully but with this app, they always refuse the pictures no matter what you do! Frustrating!!!

As I am using a phone with Android version 9 (pie) and the app just crashed itself when it is opened. I have been told that the app will be updated on monthly basic to support different Android version since we are forced to use of this app. I keep on waiting month after month and update after update, it is November now and the app updated to version 2.5.0 but it still crash with my phone! HSBC properly going to tell me to keep on waiting but I am tired of this waiting game. Going to move most of my banking to my other accounts with another bank and say good bye.

The e-deposit no longer works for me. (App can\'t access my list of accounts.) I wish I could rate this zero stars. Previously, when e-deposit worked, it would have been nice to have some manual controls for taking the photo. It took too many tries to get the back of the cheque in focus. Overall, the app used to be OK but the \"rooted device\" warnings every time the app starts is annoying, e-deposit is b0rked, and now the latest version hangs a long time on a blank, white screen.
