Oh wow.. You have got to be kidding me..play limits and an energy system? On the small amount of free content available?? On a chess exercise game with a recurring subscription fee to fully unlock?? Every single thing about this game is designed to be such a ridiculous money grab I actually laughed. It does have a very nice interface but there are a lot of completely free or one time purchase alternatives that are every bit as good.. Definitely don\'t waste your time and money on this..

It\'s an amazing step for chess and for GMs taking the use of tech to the next level, I loved Play Magnus and really enjoyed this until I started getting to the more advanced \'riddles\' in the intermediate level. The game doesn\'t allow for moves that give the same outcome, which is rather frustrating. Please fix!

From the intuitive controls to the clean graphics, this might be the best app to learn how to play chess or improve your skills. The design is relaxing and lessons are easy to catch. My only complaint is that games get boring quite fast after you play them a few times. Possible solutions are adding a wider variety of games, or adding the possibility to skip them, so that you can continue to the next session without been forced to complete them.

Good game overall. Alot of helpful information, my main gripe being that in some of the puzzles, it forces you to take a disadvantageous movement. Such as forcing you to use a discovered attack against a knight rather than an open rook. So, probably not the app you want to go to for technical advancement. But if strategy is your weakness, you could learn alot from the app.

Lost my money. I subscribed to the monthly premium subscription of this app. During the free trial, my phone broke and i had to change it. In the new phone, I installed this app and looged in. And there is no trace of my subscription. I was charged for monthly subscription without getting premium content. I contacted cuatomer support and they told me to uninstall-reinstall, logout-login sort of nonsense. Come on, it\'s 2020 and you are telling me to turn it off and on again! Stay away!

The concept of this app is very good. The interface is easy to use, the games are creative, and there is potential to train and learn. The lessons are high class and very instructive. The app is entertaining and balances the lessons from the practice. On the downside, I think there needs to be more free content, perhaps adding more overall content will help. Also, there are just a handful of puzzles with inaccurate solutions including a motif puzzle where it suggested adding pressure to a pin instead of immediatly mating the king. I also think the airplane game is notably more difficult to pass vs the other games. 4 suggestions 1. Make a page where you can accsess just the games. 2. Add more of a variety of games 3. Add some way to play and analyse chess games played by yourself (maybe add the magnus computer at a handful of different levels and use smart analysis to explain tactical mistakes) 4. Offer feedback for incorrect, but logical moves in the training sessions instead of immediatly showing the solution

Clearly a cash grab. They told me about castling, then threw me into a completely different puzzle about endings. Everything is timed, and if you\'re not fast enough, you lose a life. But don\'t worry, you can buy more lives so you can keep staring at the same puzzle for 10 seconds before they take it away from you and slide you another one. They never explain what you\'re doing wrong or tell you how to do it correctly, because then they wouldn\'t be able to charge you money for it.

Mini games load, lessons don\'t. Again. This happens overly regularly. (The lessons also don\'t, I think, teach intermediate concepts very well - you get 100+ step lessons on specific openings and their lines without ever getting introduced to strategic concepts, e.g. how to learn and prepare for various lines.)

Edit: Excellent support - really went above and beyond what one would expect. The app works great now, can gladly recommend it \"Great short intro BUT ... can\'t start a single training. I get the message \"something went wrong\" when attempting to start. Have tried restarting phone, reinstalling the game, changing network connection. Looks great, wish I could try it out properly :)\"
