Description of NFC Tools

NFC Tools is an app which allows you to read, write and program tasks on your NFC tags and other compatible NFC chips.

Simple and intuitive, NFC Tools can record standard information on your NFC tags which will be compatible with any NFC device. For instance, you can easily store your contact details, an URL, a phone number, your social profile or even a location.

But the app goes further and allows you to program tasks on your NFC tags in order to automate actions that were once boringly repetitive. Turn on the Bluetooth, set an alarm, control the volume, share a WiFi network configuration and more.

A simple motion with your phone in front of your NFC tag before going to sleep, and your phone will switch to silence and your alarm will be set for the next morning, all by itself. Very convenient, isn't it?

For the most tech-savvy of you, the geeks, preset variables, conditions and advanced tasks are also available so you can create more complex actions.

Make your life easier with more than 200 tasks available and an infinite number of combinations.

Passing your device near an NFC chip on the “Read” tab allows you to see data such as:

- The manufacturer and the type of tag (eg : Mifare Ultralight, NTAG215).

- The serial number of the tag (eg : 04:85:c8:5a:40:2b:80).

- What technologies are available and the standard of the tag (eg: NFC A, NFC Forum Type 2).

- Information about the size and memory.

- If the tag is writable or locked.

- And the last but not least, all the data the tag contains (NDEF records).

The "Write" tab lets you record standardised data such as:

- A simple text, a link to a website, video, social profile or an app.

- An email, a phone number or a predefined text message.

- A contact information or an emergency contact.

- An address or geolocation.

- A WiFi or Bluetooth configuration.

- And more.

The write function allows you to add as much data as you wish, this way you can record large quantities of information on your tag.

Other features are available under the "Other" tab, such as copying, erasing and password protecting your NFC tag.

The tasks allowing you to automate your phone are under the "Tasks" tab and are categorised.

Here are a few examples of the available actions:

- Activate, deactivate or toggle your bluetooth.

- Configure a sound profile to silent, vibrate or normal.

- Change your screen brightness.

- Set volume levels (such as your alarm, notification or ring volumes).

- Set a timer or an alarm.

- Insert an event into your calendar.

- Launch an app or an URL / URI.

- Send a text message or dial someone.

- Read aloud a text with text to speech.

- Configure a WiFi network.

- And more.

NFC Tools has been tested with the following NFC tags:

- NTAG 203, 210, 210u, 212, 213, 213TT, 215, 216, 413 DNA, 424 DNA.

- Ultralight, Ultralight C, Ultralight EV1.

- DESFire EV1, EV2, EV3, LIGHT.

- And Mifare Classic, Felica, Topaz, EM4x3x.

If you have any problems, don’t hesitate to contact us, we'll be pleased to help you.

- An NFC compatible device is required.

- In order to execute tasks, you need the free app: NFC Tasks.

While I am not that tech savvy, I found the instructions clear, and the app intuitive. Furthermore, the developer responded quickly and professionally to a question, indicative of my \"beginner\" level of NFC. They even took the time to offer some suggestions. Thank you.

Effortless task automation. I used to use If This Then That to turn off WiFi on my phone when leaving home and back on again when returning, but there was too much of a delay. With this app, and some inexpensive NFC stickers, I just tap when leaving, and tap when returning, and the app does what I want. I\'ve added some more tasks as well. Turn up the volume, and even launch Google Maps to direct me to the office--but only on weekdays in the morning. Yes it allows conditions as well! Very impressive. I\'d pay money for this.

Really useful tool, easy to use and powerful. I have a lot of nfc stickers on my desk and my car, and my phone reacts to each and change its settings, is awesome, I feel like Tony Stark.

Only needs the NFC permission, which is a big plus compared to other NFC readers. Thank you for that 👌 My only complaint WAS that after reading an NFC tag, I couldn\'t find a way to read another one, however, dev responded & they\'re right. It\'s always probing for a new NFC signal even when the \"Read\" section has a previous scan result. This let me confirm that my PayPal card does actually have a tap-to-pay NFC feature - it\'s just extraordinarily weak compared to Discover or Capital One cards.

This app - allong with my rings, and NFC Tasks, has made so many things so much easier, faster, less stressful. With banking info, computer access, phone pins, house keys, and things I wont mention kept on different pieces of jewelry, I can breaze through most of life with an inconspicuos wave of the hand. It\'s simple, straight forward and easy to use. Just wish \"Tools\" and \"Tasks\" were combined.

I love this app so much. So I recently discovered that keycards use nfc and also that my phone has an NFC chip. I had some keycards laying around, and I tried it. I don\'t have a real reason to use this but its so fun to just play around with. This app is so beautiful that anyone should use it. There are no ads and options beyond my need. Perfect.

looks good but.... tried tectiles and topaz - 1) compatibility check says these tag types are approved 2) can read them ok 3) attempt to write, erase or format returns the msg \" this nfc tag is not yet supported \"... using galaxy 6

Very nice app with many options and easy to use BUT, there is no task for Mobile Data and Location enable/disable.... Am I wrong?

I can\'t really leave a good or bad response because I am having trouble getting any of the main functions to work. Anytime I try to read copy or write a tag that I cannot seem to be able to detect it with my NFC on. Any help from the developers would be muchly appreciated however

Unable to load NFC content from a file. This seems like the most basic use case for an app like this, downloading data from the internet and writing it to an NFC tag. Unfortunately, this doesn\'t seem possible, even with the pro version. It\'s a shame that such a simple feature is not present in an otherwise very nice app.
